For the second time in Africa, the Africa Digital Rights Hub (ADRH), in partnership with PICCASO, is hosting the PICCASO Awards Africa at the 2026 Data Protection Africa Summit in Nigeria. ​

​This landmark event will celebrate African excellence in privacy, data protection, and governance, honour the contributions of DPAs, privacy professionals, civil society, and innovators, spotlight homegrown solutions and Indigenous leadership, and promote Africa’s growing influence in global digital governance.​

​The Awards aims to celebrate African excellence in data privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, compliance, and data ethics while strengthening the credibility and visibility of the PICCASO brand across the continent. The initiative seeks to encourage broad participation from public institutions, private sector organizations, and civil society, while showcasing homegrown innovations and leadership in data governance. It also aligns with the broader objectives of the Data Protection Africa Summit 2026, promoting recognition, collaboration, and advancement in Africa’s digital governance ecosystem.
